Well Linus, another Halloween has come and gone. We hope you didn’t get too many rocks.

This week has been a busy one for us, so forgive us for not having had much material for the webpage. But don’t worry, there is plenty of blood and booze swishing your way via the Tavern this month. The holiday season is in full swing now, and we have many themed posts planned. But for now, we’re going to offer up our weekly roundup, just to get November rolling.

Halloween was just days ago, but if you’re like us you’re already planning for next year. Well, how about a little help from genre icon Tom Holland, writer/director of Fright Night and Child’s Play?

In what may be the most exciting news I’ve ever posted, The Ship of Fear is a horror convention cruise that sets sail out of Miami for the week of Halloween 2013 and parties into the Bahamas. Hosted by Tom Holland and featuring an ever-growing guest lineup (Don Coscarelli, Joe Dante, Corey Feldman, Tony Todd and more), some concerts (Alice Cooper and Dee Snider), a zombie prom, a private island Halloween bash and a hell of a lot more, this con-cruise is bound to make huge waves in the horrorsphere.

Now I just have to talk my wife into us spending the money and making the 12 hour drive to Miami. I think it’s worth it. Don’t worry, I’ll wear her down.

Speaking of Tom Holland, the horror master has also launched a webpage featuring amazing art prints and other collectibles for the hungry fan. Check it out and start scribbling your early Christmas wish list.

While you’re there, I’ll take one of those Amy prints by Clint Carney, please.

Guts and Grog will be hosting articles from horror writers, bloggers, musicians and more, all focusing on kid friendly horror classics. We were invited to join the fun! What did we cover? You’ll have to wait and see! Stay tuned, starting next week, for horror with training wheels over at Guts and Grog.

Now that all the Halloween stores are having their big sales, I’m sure you’re noticing all the costumes that didn’t sell. Sometimes it’s obvious why.

At The Tavern, there is only one thing that’s more interesting than a sexy costume, and that’s a stupid sexy costume.

The wife found this great article featuring some of the most moronic sexy outfits of 2012, including Beetlejuice and Link from Zelda getting stripper makeovers. Be sure to check out the posts from 2011 and 2010 for more absurdity.

A real movie is coming out about a tornado full of sharks. This poster says it all.

But the movie most of us will be interested in this November is the Santa-themed slasher Silent Night, a basically in-name-only remake of the controversial, sleazy holiday horror flick Silent Night, Deadly Night.

This new one offers up hammy favorite Malcom McDowell as a cop chasing a Santa-suited serial killer. Even if this movie is total crap, which it almost definitely will be, I just love it when Christmas gets terrorized in cinema.

That’s all for now. I’ve got to start on hunting some turkeys…. By which I mean very bad films to review.
